This 140 sqm country house was built at the beginning of the 20th century. It has a 30sqm porch and a 180sqm terrace surrounded by one hectare park where there is a garden with a collection of hydrangeas, ancient and modern varieties of roses, peonies and camellias. The property includes also a wood, an orchard and an olive grove. This is the retreat of an old Pisan family that boasts among its ancestors Teresa V., known in the poetry of Shelley with the name of Emilie.
Built in local stone evoking the small Romanesque parish churches of the region it was remodelled in observance of the original spirit to render it comfortable in every season.
The living area, on the ground floor, consists of an entrance, a bathroom, a dining room with a fireplace, a completely equipped kitchen and a large living room with large glass windows which face a splendid landscape. A spacious porch shades part of the large stone terrace from which there is a wonderful view of the valley up to the mountains behind Lucca.
The sleeping area, upstairs, consists in three double bedrooms with two bathrooms and a small study. The entire villa is served by central heating.
The windows look out onto the rose and hydrangea garden, onto the wood and the Lucca valley.
The house is situated at Acquarella, Santa Maria del Giudice, near Lucca, 400 metres far from the village, where you can find a post office, bus stops for the local transport services, a grocer, a tobacconist, a chemist, a hairdresser….
It is an ideal location for a holiday in contact with nature, with the possibility to walk in a private wood, to rest under oak trees and to read undisturbed in real “natural rooms” among laurels, strawberry-trees, chestnut trees, ashes.
